Alpine to replace Renault in Formula One 2021

Alpine to race in Formula One

It’s good-bye to the yellow and black of Renault in Formula One and hello to the blue of Alpine for the 2021 Formula One season.

Alpine F1 Team will replace Groupe Renault as the French brand’s Formula One team in a move it claims will put the “colours of French excellence at the heart of Formula One”.

Anyone who knows their cars will know Alpine which is famous for the A110 and A110 S and for its endurance and rally heritage. It was a brand created for motorsport so it makes sense for it to take over as the Formula One brand…I guess.

Alpine will continue with Rentual tech, running the Renault E-TECH hybrid engine. And drivers Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon will be the drivers.

Making the announcement, Luca De Meo, C.E.O Groupe Renault said, “Alpine is a beautiful brand, powerful and vibrant, that brings a smile to the faces of its followers. By introducing Alpine, a symbol of French excellence, to the most prestigious of the world’s automotive disciplines, we are continuing the adventure of manufacturers in a renewed sport. We are bringing a dream brand alongside the biggest names, for spectacular car races made and followed by enthusiasts. Alpine will also bring its values to the F1 paddock: elegance, ingenuity, and audacity.”
