BMW M4 teased

Here’s our first look at the new BMW M4 with confirmation there’ll be a more-power Competition version.

Check out that nose. Hmmm. Okay, there’s a brand-new M3 and M4 Coupe coming soon but before we see them both in all their glory, BMW has partially revealed the M4 Coupe and its racing sibling, the M4 GT3. Both were unveiled overnight at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

Don’t get too carried away as these are still only prototypes. But what we do know is that behind that way too big kidney grille is a 3.0-litre straight-six turbocharged engine making either 353kW and 375kW in Competition trim and that it’ll get either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic depending on the variant.

Beyond that, details are still being kept under wraps ahead of the September reveal with BMW saying the M4 (and we can assume M3 too) still need to finish off some of their “final intensive tests”.
