A one-off project by Isuzu UK, the D-Max GO2 is a product of after-market and factory accessories to show owners the off-road potential of the D-Max.
Offering a blueprint for owners looking to improve the off-road potential of their Isuzu D-Max, Isuzu UK has built the D-Max GO2. It has been converted post-registration, oh, and it’s been called GO2 because, wait for it, “it can go to places other trucks can’t reach”. Only a dad could have come up with that.
Starting at the front there’s an ARB Sahara bar which carries a Britpart Pulling Power Winch, full underbody protection for the engine and transmission. The fuel tank on a D-Max already has protection as standard but this underguard kit also includes a rear differential guard. On top is a roof mounted Lazer Light bar. And a Safari snorkel helps the thing breath better.
The original side steps have been replaced with chassis-mounted heavy-duty steps that should take a decent hit. The 18-inch wheels have been swapped for 16s running 33-inch General Grabber X3 muddies. And the brakes have been upgraded with a Pedders braking system with the rear drums swapped out for a Pedders drum and disc package which allows a drum handbrake, which is best for off-road environments, but upgrades the vehicle braking to vented disc brakes.
The D-Max GO2 has had a Pedders TrakRyder eXtreme suspension installed; consisting of two front adjustable coilovers and two rear leaf springs combined with adjustable shock absorbers. A Pedders TrakRyder front upper wishbone has been installed for greater front suspension articulation and a Pedders rear anti-roll bar has been fitted to help control body roll. Plus, the GO2 has copped a two-inch lift and a heavy-duty rear bumper.
The tailgate has been enhanced with a Pro-Lift tailgate assist making it easier to raise and lower. A lockable and retractable Mountain Top roller cover has been fitted to the load bed. An aluminium bed drawer system with lockable storage compartments has been fitted to the load bed.
On the inside there are heavy-duty seat covers and rubber floor mats. The GO2 is based on the top-spec D-Max in the UK called Utah and it comes with automatic air conditioning, a 7-inch multifunction colour touchscreen, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, DAB radio, eight speakers and front and rear USB ports.
